Let me begin to paint a picture for you with regards to a little bit "ABOUT US." My personal background. I am the eldest child of four children and a Daddy's girl.
I am also the first child out of my immediate family to go to college and graduate with a B. A. Degree in Human Development (which is a degree that combines a lot of fields together sch as: Sociology, Biology, Child Development, Adult Development, Anthropology, Biology, Gerontology, Genetics, Psychology, Physiology, Research....
My degrees were inspired by a Teaching I heard one day from Pastor Norman about "not wasting time and what could it possible hurt by taking one college class a semester vs. watching T.V. every night? The point was to let my time be put to good use and get something more out of life"
The College degrees I worked for and earned came with sacrifices, difficulties and hard work while working full-time and raising two kids as a "Single Mom."
I started back to College in 1995 at Los Angeles City College and graduated in May 1998 while transferring to California State University, Long Beach in Spring 1998 and Graduating with a B.A. Degree in May 2002! Whew!!!
Again on both sides of my Paternal & Maternal sides of the family, I was the first child out of all my cousins nineteen to be exact, to obtain a college degree. What I am saying is that God has truly blessed me to beat the odds in my family with regards to being a first generation college graduate.
In My personal opinion, when sharing a little bit ABOUT US, my background is difficult to share yet I feel a certain type of Inner Healing that takes place when I disclose the "skeletons in my closet". What I am trying to say is that, I grew up with lots of cards stacked against me and so many labels & sterotypes to overcome. For example, I was a young, black female, low-income, inner-city kid trying to make it in this world where capitalism thrives.
I have physically endured a harsh childhood injury which scared me both emotionally, physically and mentally. I was burned at the age of 4 years old, and some parts of my body received 3rd degree burns. I went thru lots of therapy to regain the usage of my left arm.
Plus, I have endured growing up in a home where there was definitely not a lot of love and encouragement. I had to learn how to encourage myself and look for others around me or in my circle of influence to look up to and emulate.
You may be asking by now is this really a ABOUT US PAGE?

Next, working one year with Local Initiative Support Corporation Americorps to assist at risk youths at a disadvantaged non-profit business in central Long Beach.
Another field which was a project dear to my heart was participating in the City of Long Beach’ Neighborhood Leadership Program in 2003, where over 38 people from throughout Long Beach completed a six month program designed to empower participants with the skills and knowledge needed to become effective Community advocates who have and will continue to revitalize neighborhoods and take leadership roles in improving the Long Beach community.

I cherish the fact that I have been exposed to so many Mentors and many Professionals over the years who helped me to grow, decide to change and do something different.
One set of Mentors are Dr. James P. Norman, Jr. and His Special Wife, Dr. Kathleen Norman. This anointed couple has inspired me over the years so much.
The best way I can describe their attitude towards life is like the famous saying goes "When Life throws you Lemons - then make Lemonade!"
I believe that I picked up How to operate in Faith was acquired from Dr. James P. Norman, Jr & Dr. Katleen Norman.
